Bike Path "Riviera dei Fiori"

Diano Marina by bicycle: a new way of experiencing the sea and the territory
Diano Marina becomes an integral part of the great Ciclovia Tirrenica project, offering visitors a unique experience of sustainable tourism between sea, nature and culture. By December 2025, the new bicycle path connecting Imperia to Diano Marina will be completed along the evocative route of the Incompiuta, the scenic coastal road that will finally be enhanced thanks to safety improvements.
In parallel, the next section from Diano Marina to Andora, along the former railroad bed, is also planned for an additional 7 kilometers. This segment will also be completed by the end of 2025. This is a strategic project that redevelops brownfield areas, enhances the landscape and boosts the Riviera's tourism offerings.
Bike Path "Riviera dei Fiori"
The Ligurian section of the Tyrrhenian Cycling Route, also known as the Flower Riviera Cycling Route, is one of the most popular in Italy. In fact, the Cycling Riviera of Liguria won the Green Road Award 2025, the Italian Oscar for Cycling Tourism, which each year rewards the most virtuous Italian cycleways in terms of design, usability, promotion and sustainability. It was born from the reuse of old disused railroad tracks and runs mostly along the sea, with breathtaking landscapes and unique views. The most famous section is the one already open between Ospedaletti and San Lorenzo al Mare, 24 km long and enriched with historic tunnels, scenic viewpoints, rest areas and beach accesses. This route was recently extended to Borgo Prino in Imperia (for another 9 km) and will soon be completed as far as Andora, passing through Diano Marina.
The "Ciclovia Tirrenica": a bicycle corridor between Ventimiglia and Rome
The "Ciclovia Tirrenica" is one of the 10 national projects of the Sistema delle Ciclovie Turistiche. It runs about 1,200 kilometers from the French border to Rome, crossing three regions: Liguria, Tuscany and Lazio.
Its distinguishing feature is its constant facing the sea, which makes it an itinerary of great scenic value. In Liguria, the cycle route passes through historic villages, beaches, and nature reserves, and skirts three UNESCO sites: the Beigua Geopark, the historic center of Genoa, and the Cinque Terre. To the west, there is Ventimiglia, with the Balzi Rossi archaeological site: one of the most important from prehistoric times in Europe. In the Dianese Gulf, the Ciclovia Tirrenica intersects with the Via della Costa, passing alongside the Roman mansio of San Bartolomeo al Mare (whose artifacts are preserved at the Diano Marina Civic Museum) and skirting Cervo, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. In Tuscany, the route covers about 560 km, touching iconic locations such as Versilia, Pisa, Populonia and the Etruscan Coast, to the natural parks of the Tuscan Archipelago, Maremma and Migliarino-San Rossore-Massaciuccoli. In Lazio, the last 200 km connect Tarquinia to Rome, passing through the Litorale Romano State Reserve and running along the Tiber embankment to the heart of the capital.
The construction of the entire route is coordinated by a technical-economic feasibility project currently being drafted, which will ensure uniformity of signage and standards along the entire route.
The National System of Tourist Cycle Routes: cycling to discover Italy
The "Ciclovia Tirrenica" is part of the larger National System of Tourist Cycle Routes, which was created in 2016 through the collaboration between the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT) and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MIBACT). The goal is to create a bicycle network of more than 6,000 km throughout the country, consistent with the European corridors of the EuroVelo project.
Pedaling into the future, starting from Diano Marina
Choosing the Ciclovia Tirrenica means embracing a slow, environmentally friendly way of traveling, in harmony with the landscape and local communities. Diano Marina is an ideal starting point for this adventure, offering nature, history, culture and hospitality in an authentic and fascinating Mediterranean setting.
